    The online gaming sector closed 2014 slightly up on 2013 (+0.4%), although there has been a further drop in the number of active gamblers per month. Casino games and sports betting are up by 8 and 11%, respectively, and are driving the market. There is a further drop for poker (-20%). New types of gambling introduced over the past two years are bringing a positive contribution to the sector. Lotto, virtual betting, personalised betting and betting exchange. The new channels used for gambling, smartphones and tablets, consolidated their position in 2014. Expenditure through the channel has doubled and its incidence is around 14% of the total expenditure. Operators are continuing to expand their offer and Italian gamblers are using these devices more frequently and becoming more adept in their use.
