Investments by Italian companies on digital innovation rise for the third consecutive year, 2.6% of the ICT budget is expected in 2019 on average, and growing in 39% of companies, with investments concentrated mainly on Dematerialization, Big Data Analytics, and ERP systems. Digital innovation introduces new participative business models open to startups, research centers, and non-competitive companies: 33% of companies already has Open Innovation activities in place and 24% plans to implement them soon. Only 17% has a system to measure the impact of digital innovation. Collaborations with startups, in different forms, have been initiated by 33% of companies.
