In 2016 the eCommerce in Fashion market, what Italian consumers purchased from Italian and international sites, exceeds 1.8 billion euros, with an absolute value increase of 365 million euros (+25%) compared to 2015. In the product eCommerce sector Fashion is second only to technology and electronics: it counted for 6% in 2012 and today, in 2016, it is just under 10%. Market growth drives online penetration forward, at 5% of the sector’s retail segment. Over the last 5 years the average annual growth rate of Clothing was approximately 30%, twice that of eCommerce overall (+15% approx..), both on the demand side (purchases made by Italian consumers from Italian and international merchants) and on the offering side (sales from merchant with operating base in Italy and Italian and international consumers)
