Fintech & Insurtech Observatory Research

Started in 2015 the Fintech & Insurtech Observatory is the baseline for digital innovation within the Italian and European finance and insurance ecosystem. The Fintech & Insurtech Observatory’s goal is to create and spread knowledge, also through specific projects, to optimally govern, at system and individual company level, the changes taking place in the sector.

Fintech & Insurtech Observatory Research

In the edition the Fintech & Insurtech Observatory Research will focus on the following topics:

Open Finance & Insurance Journey;
use of digital technologies in Italian banks and insurance companies;
use and evolution of Consumer and Business bank and insurance channels;
Banking-as-a-service, Insurance-as-a-service, composable banking: trends and development;
Fintech & Insurtech startup business models;
Challenger banks definition and business models;
extended collaboration offered by BigTech organizations and companies in other sectors entering the financial and insurance market;
Green & Social Fintech;
strategic approaches on the use of Blockchain technology in Finance & Insurance;
strategic Role of Data and implications of using Artificial Intelligence solutions in Finance & Insurance, including Generative AI;
needs and knowledge of Italian Fintech and Insurtech consumers, focused on the Generation Z, kids, and teens;
knowledge and Fintech and Insurtech related needs of Italian SMEs and micro companies;
Innovative Digital Finance and Insurance solution offering for European SMEs;
RegTech and Financial Identity;
Digital Wealth Management and Robo Advisor;
Digital Lending;

Fintech & Insurtech Observatory activities

The Fintech & Insurtech Observatory’s planned activities for the edition are as follows:

field research involving the main players in the market: banks, insurances, startups Fintech & Insurtech, consulting companies, financial brokers, service providers, PS, research centers, investors, retailers, non-finance sector companies, etc.;
opportunities to meet and discuss with like-minded people:
- one research orientation workshop;
- three invitation-only sharing workshops to discuss the most important topics;
- one Experience sharing workshop called Fintech & Insurtech Day focused on startups, exclusively for Observatory Supporters;
- one co-design and co-creation workshop for the finance and insurance system to work together on strategic solutions;
a visit and debate with an international Fintech & Insurtech community;
a public conference to present research results, with round table discussions and contributions from major figures in the business world;
a printed report of the main results of the Research, handed out at the conference;
several in-depth online reports on topics addressed in the Research;
a bimonthly selection of messages from news and research for Partners and Sponsors representing the most relevant events of the Italian and international markets;
Meetings with students interested in Fintech & Insurtech.
