Out of the public authorities surveyed, 66% are already adopting some form of Cloud Computing, but the full potential of the technology is far from being reached. These technologies will be spread more rapidly if the various bodies decide to pool their knowledge and work together. The most common Cloud services are virtual machines and storage, dematerialisation and legally compliant archiving systems, office automation, web portals and electronic mail. According to the public authorities, the aspects that are crucial to speed up the adoption of these solutions are good connectivity (54%), governmental long-term Cloud strategies (46%) and shared security standards (43%).
