Digital Procurement

The Digital Procurement Workgroup has been established to support the Italian industrial fabric in optimizing the Procurement process by leveraging digital technologies. The Group aims to stimulate debate and create synergy among company decision makers, driving the Country system towards more meaningful awareness of Digital Procurement themes, and becoming a point of reference in Italy on Research topics.

Digital Procurement Workgroup Research

As part of the 2021 Research, the Workgroup aims to:

• Quantify the volume of purchases and of the share managed through digital solutions at Italian level;
• Share an adoption framework for the various technologies along all purchasing process stages;
• identify the strategic role of Procurement, of future trends and requirements based on the health crisis;
• create a maturity model and identify demand profiles with sector segmentation, company size, etc.;
• map new technologies available for the various stages of the purchasing process;
• identify the requirements that lead to Digital Procurement projects, the levers and barriers to implementation, and the resulting benefits;
• identify active Digital Procurement international start-ups;
• map start-ups’ main business models active on the international market and modes of integration of their offering with technologies currently available on the market;
• analyse innovative technology implementation success cases applied to the purchasing process by active buyer companies and international start-ups.
